Understanding Architectural Committees for HOA Board Members

Homeowners’ association board members are now required to take four or eight hours of continuing education (depending on the number of parcels in their respective community) in addition to the state-approved board member certification course. This course is approved by the DBPR for 1-hour of continuing education credit for HOA board members.

This course offers a practical and legal overview of architectural review procedures in Florida homeowners’ associations. Participants will examine statutory provisions to understand how to draft enforceable architectural guidelines, the proper use of Architectural Control Committees (ACCs), and how to process and respond to architectural modification requests. The course also addresses enforcement strategies for violations and how to ensure compliance with both Florida law and governing documents.
