PRIMARY FOCUS & EXPERIENCE

With more than three decades of legal experience, Fernando Portuondo is a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex real estate, business and litigation matters throughout Florida. He is a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Real Estate Law, a distinction held by only a small percentage of Florida attorneys and recognized as the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar for competency, professionalism and expertise in the field.

Mr. Portuondo concentrates his practice on all aspects of Real Estate Law, representing developers, investors, financial institutions, lenders, landlords and tenants in sophisticated commercial and residential transactions. His extensive experience includes acquisitions and dispositions, development, construction and permanent financing, leasing, title insurance, 1031 exchanges, loan workouts, and preparation and negotiation of complex real estate and co-development agreements. He also advises community associations on a wide range of matters, including document preparation and amendments, turnover issues, and construction defect claims.

In addition to his real estate practice, Mr. Portuondo provides strategic counsel on corporate and business transactions, including entity formation, corporate acquisitions and dispositions, corporate financing, asset-based lending, preparation and negotiation of complex operating agreements, joint venture agreements, partnership agreements, shareholder agreements, and business assets or stock purchase transactions.

His broad legal experience also extends to real property and commercial litigation. He represents clients in landlord-tenant disputes, mortgage and lien foreclosures, partition actions, quiet title actions, declaratory actions, construction litigation, and complex contract and business disputes. His combination of board-certified real estate expertise, litigation experience and practical business insight allows him to deliver effective, results-oriented solutions tailored to his clients’ objectives.
