Primary Focus and Experience

Michael J. Monchick is of counsel to the firm, specializing in the areas of construction, real estate, commercial and business transactional matters, as well as litigation in those fields. He has spent his legal career representing noteworthy companies in the construction industry and clients in large real estate transactions, including multi-million dollar renovations and the construction of new homes. He also represents general contractors, subcontractors and owners in all facets of construction. For many years, Mr. Monchick represented the largest suppliers in the electrical and plumbing fields. He has also represented developers of condominium residential projects from the acquisition of the property through the construction process and the sale of the units. He assists his clients in every step of a project and has extensive experience with issues involving contracts and liens. Mr. Monchick has also served as a mediator and special master in construction and commercial litigation disputes.

Recognition & Involvement

Mr. Monchick is a graduate of the Army Engineer School and was selected, after graduation, to be an instructor where he served for approximately one year. His next tour of duty was in Vietnam as a First Lieutenant and staff duty officer on the general staff of Major General J.J. Ursano and, upon Gen. Ursano’s promotion to Lieutenant General and Adjutant General of the Army, was requested to serve on General Ursano’s staff at the Pentagon. He also served under Lieutenant General William J. McCaffery, the Deputy Commanding General of the Army in Vietnam. He held top secret clearance.

Mr. Monchick maintains an “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
