Nicholas Siegfried of Siegfried Rivera Elected to Serve on Governing Committee of ABA Forum on Construction Law

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (April 29, 2020) —- Shareholder Nicholas D. Siegfried with Siegfried Rivera in Coral Gables has been elected to serve on the Governing Committee of the American Bar Association’s Forum on Construction Law, which is the largest organization of construction attorneys in the world. His three-year term will begin on Sept. 1, 2020.

Siegfried previously served as the chair of the the Forum’s Young Lawyers Division and was responsible for developing the public service and professional development projects, conferences and events for the group’s 36-and-under attorneys. He was also the Program Co-Chair for the Forum’s Fall 2018 Meeting in Montreal, QC. Forum members represent all segments of the construction industry including owners, design professionals, general contractors, construction managers, subcontractors, suppliers, insurers and sureties. Its mission is to serve the construction industry through education and leadership.

Siegfried joined the law firm in 2006 and focuses on construction law, community association law and commercial litigation. He is board certified in construction law by The Florida Bar and focuses on such construction matters as breach of contract, liens, bonds and Chapter 558 claims. Siegfried currently serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law, where he teaches a course on Florida’s Construction Lien Law. He received his Bachelor of Science in finance from the University of Florida and earned his Juris Doctorate, with cum laude honors, from the University of Miami. He is admitted to The Florida Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, and he serves as the editor of Florida Construction Lien Law and Florida Construction Law (Aspen Publishers, 2001).
