CORAL GABLES, Fla. (June 1, 2022) —- Attorney Steven M. Siegfried, Stuart Sobel and B. Michael Clark, Jr. with the Coral Gables-based law firm of Siegfried Rivera have earned some of the highest designations and rankings in Florida construction law for 2022 from Chambers and Partners, the global legal industry researcher which publishes the leading directories of the legal profession. Siegfried was designated as a “Senior Statesman,” which recognizes highly experienced attorneys who are pivotal to their firm’s success. Sobel was designated “Band 1”, Chambers’ highest, most prestigious ranking and Clark rated as an “Up and Coming” attorney. The firm also earned a “Band 3” ranking in construction.
The rankings and designations are based on Chambers’ independent research and interviews with attorneys worldwide, making these annual directories one of the most reliable and respected sources for information on the global legal profession. Siegfried is the firm’s founder and has focused on construction law in Florida since 1976, and he has also served as an adjunct professor of construction law at the University of Miami since 1984. He is board certified by The Florida Bar as both a civil trial (1983) and construction law (2006) specialist, having earned both designations in their year of inception from the state’s bar association. In 2020, The Florida Bar Construction Law Committee presented him with its Lifetime Achievement Award for his exemplary dedication, mentoring and integrity, and in 2017 he was named “Lawyer of the Year” in Miami construction law by Best Lawyers. A founding Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, Siegfried is the author of Florida Construction Law and The Florida Construction Lien Law, An Overview. He earned his undergraduate degree from Brooklyn College in 1971 and his law degree from American University, Washington College of Law in 1974.
A shareholder with the firm since 1995, Stuart Sobel is board certified in construction law by The Florida Bar. He is also certified as circuit civil mediator by the Florida Supreme Court. Sobel is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, and frequently serves as a neutral for the American Arbitration. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in economics from Brown University in 1975 and his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Miami in 1978.
B. Michael Clark, Jr. is also board certified as a specialist in construction law by The Florida Bar. He has focused on construction matters since joining the firm in 2007, and he concentrates on issues involving breach of contract, liens, bonds, delay claims, bid protests, insurance coverage disputes, and property insurance claims. Clark is an active member of the American Bar Association, Forum on Construction Law, and is the Chair of its Division 7, which focuses on issues involving insurance, surety and liens. He received his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law.
